The new Bailey Unicorn Seville was the toast of the industry when it was crowned Tourer of Year 2015 by Practical Caravan Magazine at their annual awards presentation earlier this week.
According to Practical Caravan Magazine, the UKs best-selling caravanning publication, Bailey’s third generation Unicorn range has, “taken huge strides forward by addressing past criticisms head-on and improving substantially in just about every quarter”. The Unicorn Seville, was specifically described by the judges as being, “a hugely deserving winner” and one that “simply cannot be ignored”.
Practical Caravan’s editor, Alastair Clements, commented that, “no other tourer elicited a ‘wow’ like this one as we stepped aboard, and that being amazed by such an established layout was, testament to the quiet revolution that has taken place in this range”.
The flagship Unicorn range is the first Bailey product to benefit from a new development programme featuring the use the latest state-of-the-art CAD software by a new-look Design Team. After listening to carefully to customer feedback the team re-configured the interiors of every model to maximise the available interior living space to provide optimum levels of comfort and practicality. As result, all new Unicorn models have up to 15 per cent more floorspace, up to 10 per cent more kitchen worktop space, front lounge seats which are up to 10% longer and shower cubicles which are 25% bigger.
The two-berth end-washroom Seville was one of the main beneficiaries of these enhancements. At the front it features a capacious front lounge, with seats long enough to be used as singles as well as part of a double bed make up. In the centre there is an intelligently design kitchen featuring the bailey exclusive slim-line Dometic tower 133-litre tower refrigerator (available on all single-axle models) located opposite a split-level sideboard unit offering plenty of extra storage capacity and worktop space. The layout is completed by rear transverse end washroom that includes a host of practical features such a large rectangular shower cubicle with an energy-saving ecocamel shower head and an Alde panel radiator as part of the caravan's programmable central heating system.
Commenting on the receipt of the Practical Caravan Tourer of the Year Award, Nick Howard, Managing Director of Bailey of Bristol said:
“It is great to get this type of recognition for our products from the UKs leading caravan magazine. Our new design team has listened carefully to feedback from our customers, retailers and the media regarding the design of our vehicles, and the receipt of this award coupled with early season sales suggest they have really hit the mark with the developments they have made to the third-generation Unicorn range”
